Makeshift| Michael Verderber|Poetry

Have you ever wanted something / so much you could just kill it?

Strip away your conscience / take the fake just to refill it

Suffer silence of your empty dreams / throw yourself into the river

Isolated sitting “beside yourself” / neither of you are the giver

[ Makeshift ]  I can’t unmask what hides in me

[ Makeshift ]  I can’t see the forest for the trees

[ Makeshift ]  I can’t give up what’s left in me

[ Makeshift ]  but I can feel the sorrow from beneath
